It's a... GIRL!!!

Looks like Dustin's instincts were right. We are having a girl haha. I think we were both trying to do some kind of reverse psychology thing ha. We went to my moms to share the news because she works right down the street from the ultrasound place. After of course stopping at a balloon store to fill up a tiny pink ballon to put in this tiny little box to surprise my mom with the gender :) We called my sister while we were there and she was happy. We could hear her smiling from the other end of the phone ha.

Then we went out for lunch at Sea Thai Bistro which was soooo good. Very yummy place to celebrate :)

I went to my parents house to share the news to my dad as he was cutting up a roasted pig (of course) that he had just smoked for an event that night. He of course wanted a grandson but he was excited when we shared. 

We announced the gender on facebook with this photo that was quite the ordeal to do ourselves on a crazy road where people are driving really fast, it was windy, the box was falling apart, and there had to be perfect timing because we only had one shot with only a dozen balloons to work with. It was funny but you would never know because I think it turned out really nice :)

It's a....

We hopefully find out what the baby's gender is today. Let me just set the record straight. Dustin thinks it will be a girl and I think it will be a boy. Let's see who's instincts are more correct...
They recommend drinking a lot of liquids before the appointment because it helps the baby move around more. Which apparently helps in determining the gender. So after this post I will first do some yoga (it gives the baby more room to move around...and grow in the long run too) and then be heading to Jamba Juice for a large fresh squeezed orange juice and I have already downed half a big water bottle. I hope I won't have to pee so bad while I'm on the table that it's distracting.

I felt kicks for the first time last night and this morning. Like little butterfly flutters haha.

Maternity clothes are hideous. So I am just continuing to buy stretchy-ish clothes that I can wear later like dresses. Luckily flowy t-shirts are popular. The only issue I have is shorts/pants. I don't want to buy maternity elastic pants just for the next 5 months. SO. I am buying pants the same size I normally am but unbuttoning them and putting like a stretchy tube thing around my waist so you can't see my pants are unbuttoned haha.

We find out soon!

We found out the gender in 2 weeks and I am pretty excited. I really hope the baby is in a good position and isn't hiding... If you are not having a medical need for an ultrasound you are allowed to find out the gender starting between 16-18 weeks. I chose to do it at the end of my 18th week just to be on the safer side as far as the baby being more developed and bigger in size.
People keep asking what we think it will be or what we hope it to be. I swear I hear those questions at least once every other day...
I still want a girl. But I won't be disappointed if it is a boy. Dustin's response to everyone is "I will be happy whatever it is." Good answer hun. But I know he wants a boy haha.
So does my dad. He wants to pass on his man knowledge/skills haha.
It probably will be a boy. Boys have always come first in his family and looking at my parents families, boys came first as well. Jelina and I were a unique situation I guess.
As long as they don't grow up to be wussy boys without manners that don't know how to be outdoors-y and are afraid to get dirty I will be happy.
I don't think that will be too much of a problem in my family... Plus I won't be afraid to discipline my kids unlike a lot of parents it seems like these days.
